  • Kia hura tātou i ngā taonga – Let’s unwrap some presents
  • He aha tau i whiwhi ai? – What did you get?
  • Tō waimārie hoki – Aren’t you lucky!
  • Mihi atu – Say thank you
  • Tēnā koe i te taonga? – Thank you for the gift

  • ngā mihi o Hineraumati – acknowledgements/greetings of Hineraumati (personification of summer)
  • ngā mihi o te wā – acknowledgements/greetings of the time/season
